There has been a lot of ups and downs including medical expenses. Our budget has been extremely tightened to accommodate his medical expenses so our grant from Will’s Way helped to alleviate some of those costs. I received a call from Lisa very quickly and she was so nice. She explained everything in detail and stayed in contact. It was very easy to apply. My daughter was diagnosed in Feb of 2019, the day after her 7th birthday. It's been a whirlwind adjusting to our new... normal, but kids are amazing & Rylynn has taken each twist and turn as they've come. Our daughter Mckinley is type1 diabetic and was recently hospitalized from having a seizure in the middle of the night... from her blood sugar dropping low. Our insurance changed with my husband’s new job and the cost of her supplies went through the roof. I contacted Will’s Way and in no time they were able to help us out with some supplies. Its great knowing that there is a group of people out there like this willing to help fight this terrible disease. We are beyond THANKFUL for Diabetes Will's Way! Last Thursday we found out our insurance would no longer cover our 7... year old daughter's Dexcom CGM. She has had it for about 4 months and her A1C went down a whole % since her last Endo appt 3 months ago after tending upward for the past year. We know being able to monitor her blood sugar more closely through the CGM is why we saw results. So needless to say the wind was knocked out of our sails when we heard it might be taken away.😞😢 After many hours and days on the phone trying to sort through all of policies and coverage problems between our insurance and the healthcare supply companies, we were put in contact with Diabetes Wills Way. Did they ever come to our rescue!!!😍 We not only have supplies for the next month to get us through the hectic holidays and traveling, with typically unpredictable blood sugars (while our insurance and the supply company work things out) Diabetes Will's Way COMPLETELY PAID FOR... AND....we were able to pick up the new upgraded CGM G6 within the SAME DAY of applying for assistance! What???!!!😃 We are blown away by their generosity! Seriously, our minds are blown by how intentional they are to help without all the hoops. They relieved such a tremendous burden and took care of it so easily... like literally carried it away because they genuinely have a ❤ to help families like ours who fall in the T1D insurance gap.
